Treatment Approach

Every mechanic has a toolbox. And every therapist has their own set of psychological tools.

Most of the oncoming technical language is meant to convey ideas and concepts between people in the fields of psychology, social work, counseling, and marriage & family therapy. It may be difficult to follow if you are unfamiliar with the various methods but for ease of mind these are all evidenced-based models of psychotherapy.

I operate with an ‘Attachment Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness Framework’ to conceptualize and treat clinical disorders. The overall model is a holistic or systemic approach that respects client autonomy and assesses all areas of life to develop tailor made solutions.

Therapy Journal and Key

My clinical qualities:

  • nonjudgemental

  • direct

  • supportive

  • non-anxious presence

  • empathetic

  • resourceful

  • curious

As the parable goes, my aim is to have you catching your own fish.

My goal for each client includes attaining self-reliance and greater autonomy. That means climbing to a point of no longer needing therapeutic services. Though there is nothing wrong with occasional check ups, frankly that’s a good thing, the final destination for this work is to create your own psychological toolbox. Equipped with the skills to self soothe, communicate experiences, and connect with loved ones, you will be at a level where you can tackle life’s challenges on your own.
